Job summary

Bronson South Haven Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department on a PRN basis. The RN will manage patient care using the nursing process, coordinate with the health-care team, delegate tasks, and document patient responses throughout shifts.

Qualifications include an ADN (required), a BSN preferred with a timeline to obtain, and Michigan RN licensure in good standing. BLS and potential unit-specific certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred; must obtain within 8 years of hire.
• Licensed RN in good standing for the State of Michigan.
• BSN (or higher) must be obtained within 8 years; otherwise employment may be terminated.
• BLS certification required by completion of core orientation.
• Critical care or ALS experience may be required for some RNs.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, diagnosing, implementation and evaluation).
• Coordinate care with other professionals and delegate tasks within scope of nursing practice.
• Document patient responses, resource usage, and needs during each tour of duty.
• Read, interpret, and analyze data from computer systems to set appropriate plans of action.
• Communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and electronically.
• Participate in discharge planning and quality improvement activities.
• Deliver medications and treatments per approved nursing techniques and policies.
