Job summary

Riverview Health is seeking an Emergency Department Registered Nurse to perform initial assessments, labs, and point-of-care testing, while coordinating discharge plans with physicians. The role emphasizes accurate charting and effective patient education for ED discharges.

Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years in Critical Care and ED settings, Indiana RN licensure, and current BLS/ACLS/PALS/ENPC certifications, with a strong focus on teamwork and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program by date of hire.
• Two years of Critical Care experience.
• Two years of Emergency Department experience preferred.
• RN licensed in Indiana on hire date.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, ENPC certifications required by time of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Triages and prioritizes ED care based on severity.
• Assesses patient condition with vital signs and history.
• Administers medications and assists with procedures.
• Monitors patient changes and communicates with the team.
• Discharges patients with education and instructions.
• Documents patient history and care in EMR system.
