Job summary

Los Alamos Medical Center in Los Alamos, NM, seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) in Emergency Services to join a fast-paced, collaborative ER team delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

You will perform rapid assessments, initiate interventions, administer medications, monitor patients, collaborate with physicians, educate families, and document care in the EMR. This role requires an NM license and ADN; BSN preferred, ACLS/PALS within 30 days, with strong growth opportunities and benefits.

Qualifications

• RN license in NM or Compact State is required.
• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• Within 30 days of hire, ACLS, PALS, and Handle with Care are preferred but must be obtained.

Responsibilities

• Performs rapid and accurate patient assessments to identify emergent care needs
• Initiates and implements appropriate nursing interventions based on patient condition
• Administers medications, treatments, and procedures in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards
• Monitors, documents, and communicates patient status and responses to treatment
• Collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate timely patient care
• Provides education and support to patients and families
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well‑being of patients
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record
