Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking an Emergency Room Registered Nurse to provide patient- and family-centered care in a fast-paced environment. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, collaborating with physicians and a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective treatment.

Graduate nurses with SC RN licensure and BLS are encouraged to apply. TNCC is preferred. Work hours include nights, with 36 hours per week, aligned to hospital needs and unit scheduling.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Current SC or compact-state RN license required.
• BLS certification required; TNCC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, patient- and family-centered nursing care using the nursing process.
• Assess patients, identify priorities, develop care plans, and evaluate outcomes.
• Deliver age-appropriate care while addressing physical, emotional, cultural, spiritual, and environmental needs.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
• Lead and support team members, promoting teamwork and a healthy environment.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and intervene promptly to improve outcomes.
• Educate patients and families, promote health, and provide emotional support.
• Maintain a safe, private, and dignified healing environment.
