Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking an Emergency Room Registered Nurse to deliver patient-centered care during night shifts, applying clinical expertise and the nursing process in a fast-paced environment.

You will assess, plan, and evaluate patient care, collaborating with physicians and the care team to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes, while educating patients and families and maintaining a therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current South Carolina or compact-state Registered Nurse license.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, patient- and family-centered nursing care using the nursing process.
• Assess patients, identify clinical priorities, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate outcomes.
• Deliver age- and developmentally appropriate care while addressing each patient’s physical, emotional, cultural, spiritual, and environmental needs.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate safe, effective patient care.
• Lead and support other assigned team members while promoting teamwork and a healthy work environment.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and initiate timely interventions to improve outcomes.
