Qualifications

  • Minimum nine (9) months of RN experience.
  • One (1) year of ED experience or Kaiser Permanente New Grad Internship Program in the Emergency Department.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Basic Life Support required at hire.
  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course within 6 months of hire OR Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire.
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certificate within 3 months of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support

Responsibilities

  • Assessment: Performs multi-system assessments and discharge planning as part of patient care.
  • Planning: Develops and documents the nursing plan of care and prioritizes patient needs.
  • Implementation: Initiates measures per protocol and documents in the EMR.
  • Evaluation: Evaluates care effectiveness and participates in quality assurance activities.
