Job summary

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in the Emergency Department, aligned with standards of practice and the hospital's mission. You’ll collaborate with medical providers and care teammates to support outcomes and positive patient experiences.

Key activities include pain assessment and management, documenting care, patient education on conditions, treatments, and follow-up, and timely communication to ensure safe, effective responses to patient needs.

Qualifications

• RN license and degree as required by state regulations.
• ACLS/PALS certifications and BCLS required.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management and reassessments.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered and documents care in the medical record.
• Responds promptly to patient requests and anticipates needs to ensure quality care.
• Educates patients and families about conditions, treatments, medications, and follow-up; translates medical terminology for clarity.
• Prepares patients and families for self-management and follow-up care.
