Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health in Defiance, Ohio is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Room. This role requires strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status, determine priorities, and implement nursing interventions in a fast-paced ED setting.

You will collaborate with an interprofessional team, develop care plans, and ensure safe, compassionate care across a diverse patient population.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Associates degree or Bachelors degree in Nursing.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• One year of professional RN experience; recent ER or Critical Care experience preferred but not required.
• ACLS/PALS/BLS certifications as specified (ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Care for groups of patients in a fast-paced, high intensity setting as part of an interprofessional team.
• Evaluates, updates and revises the plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes.
• Serves as point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments.
• Provides care to a broad spectrum of patients ranging from short-stay to trauma.
• Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and the organization's policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned
