Job summary

Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center is seeking an RN Charge to oversee nursing unit operations during assigned shifts. You will supervise staff, coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams, and ensure compliance with regulations while fostering a positive work environment and professional development.

The role requires 1–2 years of nursing experience, active RN licensure, and BLS certification, with ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of clinical nursing experience.
• RN state licensure (or compact state licensure) required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises nursing and support staff, delegating tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
• Evaluates staff performance, providing feedback and coaching to maintain high standards of care.
• Oversees the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, ensuring care plans are followed.
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and resolve issues related to patient flow or care delivery.
• Ensures effective communication among physicians, patients, families, and hospital departments, including shift handoffs and unit huddles.
• Monitors patient flow, manages bed assignments, and optimizes resource utilization.
• Conducts rounding to evaluate care delivery and satisfaction.
• Monitors adherence to safety standards, infection control protocols and hospital policies.
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives and audits.
• Maintains supplies and ensures cost-effective resource management.
• Facilitates ongoing education and professional development for nursing staff.
• Leads infection prevention efforts and PPE usage training.
• Responds to emergencies within the unit with leadership and direct care.
