Job summary

UKHS St. Francis Campus is seeking a variable shift, full-time Emergency Room A (ER) Registered Nurse in Topeka, Kansas to provide direct patient care in a dynamic ER environment.

The RN will assess patient needs, develop care plans, and coordinate delivery while adhering to nursing standards and hospital policies. BLS, ACLS within a year, and nursing licensure are required; BSN preferred for ongoing growth and leadership opportunities.

Qualifications

• Current Kansas RN Licensure.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Telemetry, ICU, and PCU require ACLS; Post-Surg requires Chemo, completed within the first year.
• 2-Year Degree
• Specific Certifications are required within one year of hire

Responsibilities

• Coordinate safe patient care delivery for specified and diverse patient populations under the Nurse Director/Manager.
• Assess patient/family needs, develop and prioritize goals, evaluate care, and revise the plan of care accordingly.
• Delegate care to the team to optimize patient outcomes.
• Adhere to the Kansas Nurse Practice Act.
