Job summary

HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital is seeking an Emergency Department RN to provide high‑quality, efficient care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. You will lead patient flow, triage, and exam preparation while delivering medication administration and patient education.

The ideal candidate holds an active Florida RN license with emergency department experience, is BLS certified, and is prepared to obtain ACLS, PALS/ENPC, and NIHSS within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Must have RN emergency experience.
• Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse or appropriate compact licensure; active FL RN license within 60 days of hire if compact.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• PALS and/or ENPC certifications required within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• NIHSS certification required within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills; ability to read/understand instructions; PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage efficient flow of patients including triage, screening, exam prep, providing general nursing care, and arranging testing and admissions.
• Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
• Maintain and review patients’ records including posting tests and examination results.
• Administer medications in accordance with physician orders.
