Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System – Olathe Hospital seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Room on a PRN/part-time basis. The RN delivers holistic patient care using the nursing process, triage, and interdisciplinary collaboration with the care team.

Responsibilities include safe medication administration, patient education, and readiness for changes in a patient’s condition. Must meet Kansas Nurse Practice Act and hold CPR/BLS certification; ER experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Completion of an RN program with licensure.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital policies related to medication safety and order writing.
• Answers calls, triages patient care needs and coordinates with the interdisciplinary team.
• Provides direct nursing care including chemotherapy, fluids and other treatments as prescribed.
• Demonstrates leadership by guiding team members and ensuring patient safety.
• Educates patients and families using available resources.
