Job summary

Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS is seeking an Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) for a part-time, dayshift position (7am–7pm). The role involves rapid assessment, triage, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality emergency care.

Responsibilities include coordinating care, assisting with resuscitation, and maintaining emergency equipment while prioritizing patient safety and timely interventions.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license required.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic Arrhythmia interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of one year experience in acute care hospital setting; ER setting preferred.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care to patients with varying levels of illness and injury.
• Triage and quickly assess situations, make decisions, and solve problems in high-pressure environments.
• Cooperate with doctors, nurses, and other professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Aid in resuscitative efforts, including CPR and defibrillators.
• Prepare and maintain equipment for emergency interventions (e.g., intubation, central line placement).
• Assist in patient stabilization for trauma, cardiac arrest, and acute illnesses.
• Prioritize patient care based on acuity using triage protocols.
