Position Overview

The role involves assessing, planning, directing, and evaluating patient care in the Emergency Room.

Essential Job Functions

1. Plan, prioritize, and provide age-specific and developmentally appropriate nursing care, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
2. Complete accurate and legible documentation in medical records.
3. Observe and record signs, symptoms, behaviors, and physiological status of patients.
4. Propose revisions to interventions and desired outcomes.
5. Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
6. Follow physician’s orders in delivering nursing care.
7. Collect laboratory samples and perform tests according to policies and regulations.
8. Adhere to infection control, isolation, and aseptic techniques.
9. Perform admission, discharge, and transfer procedures.
10. Participate in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care.
11. Prepare equipment and supplies for diagnostic or treatment procedures and assist with procedures as needed.

Other Job Functions

1. Perform and document Quality Assessment activities.
2. Attend staff and mandated meetings.
3. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

1. Associate’s Degree required; BSN preferred.
2. Current state RN licensure without sanctions.
3. At least 2 years of full-time RN experience in ER or similar.
4. Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association; ENPC or TNCC preferred.
5. Fluency in English, both written and oral.
