Job summary

Huntsville Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse in Emergency Services to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced setting. You will assess, treat, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Requires Alabama RN license, ACLS/PALS/BLS certifications, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with compassionate communication. This on-site role offers opportunities to impact patient outcomes in a respected hospital.

Qualifications

• Current Alabama RN license or a current RN multi-state license.
• Prior critical care or emergency room experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a fast paced environment.
• BCLS, ACLS, PALS and department specific competencies must be maintained.
• TNCC is preferred. BLS must be obtained within 90 days of employment. ACLS/PALS within first year.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients, implements department protocols and provides appropriate nursing interventions and ongoing assessment. Implements life support procedures in emergency situation.
• Actively facilitates patient flow in the department.
• Promotes cost consciousness by directing patients to D/C area for collections and using supplies wisely.
• Treats all patients, families, co-workers and physicians in a customer friendly manner, giving information, providing comfort, and handling follow up as assigned.
• Maintains accurate records, documents and reports patient care and charges, triage times, bed time, and discharge times.
• Documents and discharges patients giving teaching information and referrals.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of emergency nursing procedures and equipment, medications administered, nursing trends and legal aspects.
