Job summary

Qualifications

• Possession of or eligibility for a license to practice as a registered nurse in New York State.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred and at least one year of hospital acute care experience.
• ACLS / PALS / TNCC and certifications such as CEN / CCRN / CPEN are preferred.
• Only licensed nurse experience in an acute care facility will be counted toward RN1 experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition and coordinate care with other health disciplines.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans including discharge planning.
• Administer direct care and medications when required.
• Maintain infection control and a safe environment.
• Communicate patient changes to the Charge RN/Clinician.
• Maintain and update written care plans and set patient/family goals.
• Provide patient education and document responses in medical records.
• Collaborate with staff and departments to improve quality of care.
• Participate in unit/hospital quality assurance activities.
