Job summary

Temple Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Emergency Department on a per diem basis in Philadelphia. The role provides direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, contributing to safety, comfort, and efficient ED operation.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of Nurse Aide/Medical Assistant training or EMT/Nursing student clinical rotation, and Basic Life Support certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Successful completion of Nurses Aide or Medical Assistant Training and Competency Evaluation program, EMT training or Nursing student with Nursing 101 clinical rotation is required.
• Basic Life Support certification is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect patient care under the guidance of the registered nurse.
• Implements components of the plan of care including basic human, mental health and social needs; comfort, safety and emergency measures; activities of daily living; personal care; nutrition and fluid needs; and elimination needs. Performs vital signs, ECGs, venipuncture, IV placement, capillary blood glucose testing, and related unit secretary, patient transport, and environmental care duties.
