Job summary

Olathe Health System, Inc. is seeking a PRN ER Tech at Olathe Hospital to support the Emergency Care Center under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities include preparing for ECC procedures, assisting with patient care, and performing non-patient care tasks such as restocking and cleaning. The role requires strong organization, prioritization, and decision making, with duties spanning vital signs, specimen labeling, and basic phlebotomy after training.

Qualifications

• High school graduate required.
• Two or more years of healthcare experience preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification required or obtained within 14 days.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient flow by preparing, cleaning, stocking rooms, and assisting patients in/out of vehicles as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment; clean equipment; monitor supplies and report issues.
• Assist RN/Physician with patient care tasks including splinting, IV discontinuation, and ECGs.
• Obtain and document vital signs, collect specimens, and transport to Lab as indicated.
• Demonstrate effective communication and prioritize tasks using First Net tracking board.
