Job summary

University Medical Center of El Paso is seeking a skilled Emergency Department Patient Care Technician to join the night shift.

Under direct supervision of RN, Charge Nurse, and ED leadership, you will assist with ADLs, perform venipuncture and waived tests, and help maintain a safe, patient-centered environment.

Bi-lingual English/Spanish is preferred; a high school diploma and EMT-A, PCT, CMA or MA program completion are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of EMT-A, PCT or MA program required.
• Current BLS training required.
• EMT-A, CMA, RMA, or PCT Certification required (one of listed).

Responsibilities

• Functions as a key member of the ED nursing care team under RN/Charge Nurse/Director supervision.
• Assists with activities of daily living (ADL) for patients.
• Promotes safe, cost-effective healthcare environment and communicates status.
• Documents patient information and status for care coordination.
