Job summary

DHR Health in Edinburg, TX seeks an Emergency Department Technician for the Nights shift (PRN). The role supports the clinical team with phlebotomy, patient transport, and procedure assistance, while maintaining a safe, patient-focused environment under RN supervision.

Qualifications include a Texas-licensed CNA/EMT/MA or Medical Assistant program, BLS, and excellent communication. Two years in ED settings preferred; hospital experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Active license as CNA/CECA/EMT/EMT-Intermediate/PCT or Medical Assistant program graduate in Texas.
• Current BLS certification required upon hire.
• Graduate of an accredited college providing paramedic or related training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others.
• Maintains log of assignments for ER techs and assigns room duties at start of shift.
• Actively participates in direct patient care and ensures a safe, comforting environment.
• Responds to patient needs promptly and transports patients as needed.
• Welcomes patients and assists in admission processing.
• Performs pre-triage functions including vital signs and transport to triage.
• Performs/assists with positioning and transferring patients between bed, chair, wheelchair or stretcher.
• Maintains stock levels of supplies and forms in the ED.
• Performs blood glucose monitoring and posts labs on chart.
• Orients new hires and participates in staff development.
