Job summary

Prisma Health’s Emergency Department team at the Oconee Medical Campus is seeking a patient care technician to support urgent and emergency care. You will provide direct patient care under supervision, following established unit policies and procedures to ensure patient safety.

You will assist with vital signs, data collection, transport, and documentation in the EMR; participate in CPR and resuscitation efforts; and help maintain a clean, respectful, and patient-centered environment for

Qualifications

• Education required: nursing assistant, patient care tech, medical assistant, EMT, Paramedic, surgical tech, phlebotomy, or nursing fundamentals course.
• Experience: No experience required; nursing student or related roles preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care within scope of practice as directed by providers and licensed staff.
• Assists with positioning patients, applications of splints, casts and dressings.
• Performs data collection including vital signs and basic/sterile specimens.
• Documents data on medical records and informs RN of activities performed.
• Assists with resuscitation / CPR and emergency airway procedures.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
• May perform monitor tech or unit secretary duties.
• Participates in process improvement initiatives.
