Job summary

Emory Healthcare in Atlanta is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to support patient care under physician and nurse supervision. This role focuses on patient comfort, vital signs, and coordinating care in a fast-paced environment.

You will perform phlebotomy, IV placement, wound care, and assist with triage and ED workflows while adhering to Infection Control standards and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited EMT-Advanced or EMT-Intermediate training program.
• One year related experience preferred; ED experience preferred.
• Current EMT-I/EMT-A/EMT-P certification and CPR required.

Responsibilities

• Provides general patient care including blankets, meals, and updates on treatment status.
• Performs peripheral IV placement, specimen collection, general phlebotomy and blood cultures.
• Placement of simple orthoglass splints and other immobilizers.
• Performs wound care, bandaging, and wound irrigation.
• Takes vital signs and assists in triage and ED workflows.
• Documents procedures; supports patient flow when ED is crowded.
