Job summary

University Hospitals is seeking a Part-time Patient Access Representative for the Emergency Department at Cleveland Medical Center, a Level 1 Trauma Center. This weekend night shift role handles patient check-in, insurance verification, and care coordination in a fast-paced ED.

You will work with nurses and physicians to ensure accurate registrations, smooth patient flow, and effective communication, contributing to patient satisfaction and operational success.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist patients and families during Emergency Department visits with empathy and efficiency.
• Complete patient registration, check-in, and discharge processes accurately.
• Verify and update demographic and insurance information to support timely care and billing accuracy.
• Answer calls, address questions, and assist scheduling needs as needed.
• Guide patients in navigating MyChart and other communication tools.
• Communicate important patient information clearly with ED staff and providers.
• Collect copays and process payments following organizational guidelines.
• Support insurance verification and related documentation.
