Job summary

South Baldwin Medical Group in Foley, AL seeks a Paramedic – Emergency Department to deliver advanced life support in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. Working under RNs and physicians, you will perform ALS interventions, assist with procedures, administer medications within scope, document in the EMR, and support patient throughput.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Paramedic program.
• Associate degree in EMS preferred.
• 0-2 years EMT-P experience required.
• Hospital-based ED or critical care transport experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical care and technical procedures within scope, including vital signs, IV insertion, wound care.
• Assists physicians and nurses with emergency procedures including resuscitation and trauma care.
• Recognizes and reports changes in patient condition; supports appropriate clinical responses.
• Administers medications safely under protocols with proper documentation.
• Documents care and observations in EMR in a timely manner.
• Collaborates with nursing to prioritize care and support throughput.
• Prepares patients for procedures and imaging, ensuring comfort and safety.
• Maintains and stocks ED supplies and equipment; reports malfunctions.
• Demonstrates critical thinking in emergent situations and performs ALS interventions as needed.
• Provides clear communication with patients and families to reduce anxiety.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
