Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
• Paramedic license STATE OF FLORIDA Upon Hire Required.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers Upon Hire Required.
• ACLS Provider within 90 Days Required.

Responsibilities

• Responds to requests for paramedic level services from areas within the emergency department in a timely and safe manner.
• Completes documentation and records according to hospital and department policy.
• Ensures emergency preparedness equipment is ready for response at all times.
• Assists with codes and critical care patients within the emergency department at the paramedic level, including interdepartmental transport and monitoring.
• Performs assigned duties in the emergency department under supervision of nursing with documented training and skills evaluation.
• Assists charge nurse and/or triage nurse in assessing, prioritizing, and maintaining patient flow and reassessing waiting patients.
• Responsible for C-Med communication.
• Assists EMS providers with medications and supply restocking per hospital agreements.
• Participates in community activities to improve public understanding of the EMS system.
• Pursues new levels in paramedicine and participates in professional growth activities.
