Job summary

Firelands Health in Sandusky, OH seeks a Paramedic to join the Emergency Department team. You will deliver care to patients with acute illness or injury, perform information gathering, and intervene under physician and nurse supervision, while adhering to Ohio state law.

The role requires interaction with patients and families, documenting information, and participating in life-saving measures, EKG monitoring, IV/IO access, and wound care, under physician direction.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited paramedic training program.
• Current EMT-Paramedic certification (OH); National Registry preferred.
• BLS and ACLS current; PALS within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with assessment by information gathering and patient care.
• Document patient information and care rendered.
• Interact with patients, families and health care team with professional communication.
• Perform life-saving measures and ACLS interventions under physician direction.
• Initiate IV/IO, monitor ECG, and manage equipment as directed.
• Support wound care, catheter insertions, and specimen collection per protocol.
• Participate as a trauma/stroke team member and ensure unit readiness.
