Job summary

Ochsner in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Nurse Supervisor to provide point-of-care leadership within the unit. You will coordinate, delegate, and supervise care delivered by RNs, LPNs, and techs, ensuring timely response to emergencies and adherence to nursing protocols.

In collaboration with the unit leader, you will assess staff performance, organize scheduling, and promote evidence-based practice while maintaining regulatory compliance and high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with RN license.
• BSN required for Ochsner Magnet Facilities.
• 1 year of RN experience or 2 years of LPN in an acute care setting; RN preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Treats critical injuries, allergic reactions, and trauma.
• Organizes, plans, supervises, and provides coordinated patient care within the unit.
• Supervises, develops, and evaluates assigned departmental staff nurses and technicians.
• Promotes evidence-based nursing protocols and clinical practice guidelines.
• Manages staffing, scheduling, and supplies to support patient care.
• Collaborates with unit leadership and other supervisors on staffing and care decisions.
