Job summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center in Cedar Park, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department on a PRN basis. This role provides patient‑centered care in collaboration with physicians and the care team, following established nursing models to ensure quality outcomes.

The RN coordinates care, teaches patients and families, and advocates for high‑quality, compassionate service. A strong ED background with appropriate certifications is required to join a respected caregiving

Qualifications

• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Cour must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
• NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
• RN licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Texas.
• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• ACLS or Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor requirements within 90 days.
• TNCC or trauma nursing instructor credentials within 1 year.
• 1 year ED experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient pain regularly and reassess after interventions.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other orders and document care promptly.
• Respond to patient requests promptly and anticipate needs.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, plans, medications and follow‑ups.
• Educate on non‑medicinal follow‑ups such as diet, exercise and self‑management.
