Job summary

Daviess Community Hospital is seeking an Emergency Department RN to provide direct and indirect patient care in a fast-paced ED. The shift is 6:00pm to 6:00am with PRN hours, requiring triage expertise, rapid decision-making, and effective communication with ED physicians.

Ideal candidates hold Indiana RN licensure, BCLS, and ACLS/TNCC/ENPC/PALS within required timeframes. Expect to work autonomously with accountability for patient flow and safety.

Qualifications

• Current Indiana RN licensure is required.
• Current BCLS certification is required.
• ACLS certification must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.
• TNCC must be completed within one (1) year of hire.
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) must be completed within one (1) year of hire.
• PALS must be completed within one (1) year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Triages safely, rapidly and accurately for every patient entering the emergency care system.
• Communicates with Emergency Department physicians about changes in patient status, symptoms, and diagnostic results.
• Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
• Provides direct and indirect patient care in the emergency care setting with initiative and responsibility.

Education

Indiana RN licensure

BCLS certification

ACLS certification within 6 months

TNCC within 1 year

ENPC within 1 year

PALS within 1 year
