Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum nine months RN experience; ED experience preferred.
• Current Oregon RN license; BLS required at hire; ACLS required.
• ENPC or PALS within 6 months of hire; NIH Stroke Scale certificate within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate multi-system assessments, including biophysical, psychosocial, and environmental needs.
• Develop an individual nursing plan of care sensitive to the developmental needs of the patient.
• Initiate appropriate measures based on protocol for managing medical and/or surgical patients.
• Evaluate assessment methods, plan of care, and patients' responses to treatment.
• Coordinate patient care activities and discharge planning with other departments and agencies.
• Document care accurately in the EMR.
• Classify acuity levels of assigned patients and establish priorities for patient care.
• Utilize a multidisciplinary approach when appropriate.
• Accurately calculate and administer medications.
• Participate in unit quality assurance activities.
