Job summary

University of Michigan Health-West is seeking an experienced RN Staff Nurse for the Emergency Department night shift (11p–7a), 0.6 FTE with a new hire incentive. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in a fast-paced ED, coordinating with the medical team to deliver safe, high‑quality care.

Michigan RN licensure with BLS/CPR is required; ACLS/PALS are preferred and must be obtained within designated timeframes. BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Michigan RN license required.
• BLS/CPR certification required.
• ACLS and/or PALS preferred; must obtain ACLS within 60 days for certain units or within 3 months after transfer.
• Level 4/5 RN ACLS/PALS recommended; basic dysrhythmia interpretation competence may be required.
• In ED, ACLS certification within 3 months after hire or transfer; re-certification every 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' conditions and needs.
• Plan care using nursing diagnoses and patient outcomes.
• Implement nursing plans and physician orders.
• Set priorities using available resources.
• Perform procedures and assist physicians.
• Evaluate patient responses and modify plans as needed.
