Job summary

Universal Health Services, through its Northern Nevada Health System, seeks an ER Registered Nurse for the North Valleys ED. The role provides 24/7 coverage, direct patient care across ages, and collaboration with ED physicians to manage status changes and diagnostic results.

Qualifications

• Current NV RN License.
• Two to three years exp in the emergency department preferred OR.
• Two to three years critical Care Exp OR.
• Extensive EMS background experience.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Current ACLS Certification (within 6 months of hire).
• Current PALS Certification (within 6 months of hire).

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
• Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy.
• Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients.
• Ability to monitor hemodynamic status of patient and correctly interpret the results.
• Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain; educates patient and family regarding pain management.
