Job summary

Scott County Hospital Careers is seeking an Emergency Department Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced ED. You will assess, prioritize, and intervene to achieve safe outcomes while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

You will participate in trauma care, maintain readiness of treatment areas, and ensure thorough documentation. Kansas licensure, BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC are required or time-bound; ENPC preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Kansas RN license.
• BLS within 1 month of hire.
• ACLS, PALS, and TNCC within 6 months of hire.
• ENPC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as the primary ED nurse in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
• Perform comprehensive initial and ongoing patient assessments.
• Actively participate on the trauma team and assist in codes and critical events.
• Ensure treatment areas are stocked, organized, and equipment is functional.
• Collect and synthesize clinical data from patients, families, labs, and reports.
• Communicate plan of care, progress, and discharge instructions to patients and families.
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, outcomes, and ensure records are complete by shift end.
