Job summary

HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital’s Park West Freestanding Emergency Room seeks a Registered Nurse to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. You will collaborate with providers, document care in the patient record, and educate patients and families about conditions and follow-up steps.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
• RN is required
• Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree required

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures.
• Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and/or other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self-management.
