Job summary

Medical City Dallas is seeking a Seasonal Registered Nurse for the Emergency Room to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, emergency setting. The RN will collaborate with physicians and the care team, using established nursing models to assess, treat, teach, and manage patient care.

Position requires ER experience, active RN license, and compliance with ACLS/PALS/TNCC timelines. Seasonal staff work 72 hours per pay period with rotating weekends and holiday shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required or obtained within specified timeframes.
• RN license active and in good standing.
• Associate degree in Nursing or higher.
• Trauma/ER specific certifications as listed.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or similar training required within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient pain regularly and promote effective pain management with reassessments.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or functions as ordered by the provider and document care in the medical record.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and provide proactive, exceptional care.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about conditions, status, treatment, medications and follow-up.
• Explain non-medical follow-up measures like diet, exercise, disease prevention and self-management.
