Job summary

The CHRISTUS Health system seeks a competent nurse to practice in the same or similar clinical setting, working independently and guiding care planning for patients. The role involves routine and complex care, including long-range goals and contingencies, with delegation to other care providers as needed.

Responsibilities include delivering nursing care per the nursing process, documenting patient history, educating patients and families, and ensuring safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• Current ACLS certification required
• Current PALS certification required
• RN License in state of employment or compact
• BLS required

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Addresses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or care givers; identify issues and resources.
• Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as a means to help manage the clinical situation.
