Job summary

Ochsner Health System seeks an RN Supervisor for the Emergency Department on the West Bank, nights, full-time. This role leads a team of RNs and techs, coordinates patient care, and ensures adherence to standards under unit leadership.

The supervisor provides mentorship, evaluates staff performance, and collaborates across shifts to maintain high-quality, urgent care for trauma and critical patients.

Qualifications

• RN license in state of practice.
• Required: 1 year RN experience; or 2 years LPN in acute care.
• Education: RN diploma; ADN/BSN preferred.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Treats critical injuries, allergic reactions, and trauma.
• Quickly assesses patient needs and responds to emergencies.
• Organizes, plans, supervises, and provides coordinated patient care.
• Supervises, develops, and evaluates assigned departmental staff.
• Promotes nursing protocols and evidence-based practice.
• Manages shift conflicts and collaborates with leadership.
• Collaborates on quality, safety, and patient experience initiatives.
• Supports daily clinical operations and staffing.
• Adapts communication to patient populations.
• Performs other related duties.
