Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license required.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others are essential.
• Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) is acceptable with commitment to obtain a BSN within three years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, develops an individualized plan, coordinates care delivery and evaluates progress toward outcomes.
• Directs care and utilizes any assistants involved in providing direct patient care.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and staff; creates a documented plan focused on outcomes and communications.
• Participates in shared governance, committee work, and unit projects.
• Evaluates and documents patient responses to interventions and adapts the care plan accordingly.
• Utilizes evidence-based practice to guide nursing decisions.
