RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a dedicated Medical Scribe for the Emergency Medicine Associates team in Elizabeth, NJ. The role supports clinicians by transcribing dictations and documenting encounters into the EMR with high accuracy.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and healthcare exposure, with 50 WPM typing capability and strong communication, organization, and time-management skills. Day shift; full-time with rotating weekends and a competitive total rewards package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required, science/clinical coursework preferred.
• Direct patient care experience in healthcare is advantageous.
• Experience or shadowing in healthcare settings is preferred and must be on resume.

Responsibilities

• Transcribe clinician dictations and notes into the EMR during patient encounters.
• Listen to and document conversations among clinicians, patients and families.
• Document patient encounters accurately and promptly in the EMR.
• Obtain missing information from clinicians to complete charts.
• Gather clinical data from external sources (labs, EMS records, etc.).
• Place calls to PMD offices or pharmacies as requested by clinicians.
• Update clinicians on test results and resolve delays where possible.
