Job summary

The PARC in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a full-time Emergency & Critical Care Veterinary Technician to join our 24/7 ICU team. You will provide advanced nursing care to hospitalized patients, monitor vital signs, and assist with anesthesia and complex procedures in a high‑acuity setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2+ years of clinical experience as a veterinary technician in an Emergency and/or Intensive Care setting.
• ECC/CVT/LVT/RVT encouraged to apply.
• Demonstrated experience providing advanced nursing care to hospitalized, high‑acuity ICU patients.
• Proficient in monitoring BP, ECG, SpO₂, EtCO₂ and interpreting data.
• Experience managing CRIs and multimodal drug infusions.
• Strong understanding of disease progression and medication protocols in critical care.
• Experience with central lines and NG tubes in ICU patients.
• Comfort with higher-risk anesthesia cases (ASA III–V) and post‑op recovery.
• Ability to mentor ER technicians and ensure shift continuity.
• Excellent documentation and client communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced ICU nursing care for hospitalized high‑acuity patients.
• Monitor patient data (BP, ECG, SpO₂, EtCO₂) and laboratory results.
• Manage CRIs and complex fluid therapy with precise calculations.
• Perform and maintain central lines and NG tubes
• Support high-risk anesthesia cases and prolonged post‑operative care
• Assist veterinarians with advanced procedures and surgeries
• Maintain accurate medical records and clear shift-to-shift communication
• Collaborate with veterinarians and medical team for evolving treatment plans
• Mentor ER technicians and developing ICU staff
• Maintain calm, compassionate approach in high-stress ICU environments
