Job summary

MedVet is seeking a Nursing & ICU Veterinary Technician for our Dallas, TX emergency and specialty team. This full-time role involves supervising patients, assisting with anesthesia, and collaborating with the DVM and care team to ensure high-quality patient care.

The position emphasizes critical care, client education, and fast-paced workflow. A licensed RVT is preferred, with prior veterinary experience and strong communication skills expected. Competitive benefits accompany the role.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather information.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
• Partner with patient care team on treatment plans and nursing care concerns.
• Provide client education on home care, medications and wellness.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house lab testing and prepare samples for external labs.
