Job summary

MedVet is seeking a Nursing/ICU Veterinary Technician to join our clinical team in Dallas, TX. Schedule: Wednesday, Friday, Saturday 7a-7p. You will supervise patients, draw labs, assist with anesthesia, and educate clients on home care and medications.

Prior veterinary nursing or critical care experience is valued, with an emphasis on fast-paced, precise care. State-registered tech license is preferred; strong math and communication skills are essential to coordinate with the care team and

Qualifications

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license preferred.
• Prior veterinary experience required; nursing or critical care desired.
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, CRIs, unit conversions).
• Flexibility with work hours and availability for overtime.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather information.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
• Partner with patient care team on treatment plans and nursing care.
• Provide client education including home care instructions and meds.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures.
