Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Port Washington, WI is seeking an experienced Relief Veterinary Technician for our ER/ICU department. This role offers relief shifts with pay ranging from $22 to $35 per hour, depending on licensing and experience.

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia, triage emergencies, perform radiography, and assist with CT, endoscopy, and ultrasonography. You will mentor staff and uphold compassionate client care.

Qualifications

• WI veterinary technician license is preferred or required.
• Experience in Emergency/ICU veterinary care is expected.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia using monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergencies and record vitals (temp, HR, RR, BP).
• Perform digital radiography with correct patient positioning.
• Assist with CT, endoscopy, and ultrasonography.
• Interpret vital signs and alert veterinarians to changes.
• Identify at-risk patients and initiate CPR according to protocols.
• Handle IV catheters and phlebotomy.
• Place feeding tubes and central lines as needed.
• Mentor and train other team members with empathy.
• Maintain current CPR guidelines (R.E.C.O.V.E.R; ALS/BLS provided).
• Provide patient and client care with professionalism.
