Qualifications

• Must be certified through AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P).
• Minimum 6 months of on-the-job coding experience.
• Proficient with EMR and billing systems; strong attention to documentation accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Code CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10-CM at high accuracy.
• Determine E/M levels using company algorithm.
• Code surgical procedures typical of ER and other settings.
• Apply ICD-10-CM/PCS codes to the most specific level.
• Ensure documentation supports code assignments and reimbursement.
