Job summary

Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center in Northwest Portland invites you to join our Emergency Services team as an Emergency Services Technician. You will assist the Licensed Independent Practitioner, RN and Unit Secretary, contributing to smooth and safe patient flow in a fast-paced environment.

We seek individuals with high school diploma and prior emergency or pediatric patient care, strong clinical terminology, and the ability to work quickly and with professionalism.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous patient care experience in an Emergency environment and/or with children strongly preferred
• Basic medical terminology knowledge.
• Computer familiarity.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments.

Responsibilities

• PATIENT CARE: Provides patient care to newborn, child, adult and geriatric patients as delegated by and under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• COMMUNICATION: Uses appropriate communication skills in dealing with patients, visitors, EMS personnel, hospital personnel.
• ENVIRONMENTAL DUTIES: Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for maintenance and safety of unit equipment and supplies.
• EDUCATION: Demonstrates and maintains active working knowledge of the Credentialing competencies for Emergency Services Techs. There will be a three-month leeway between time of hire and mandatory completion of competencies which will be turned in to nurse manager.
• PROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR: Demonstrates professionalism in appearance and actions.
