Job Summary:

ER Nurse RN

Works under the ER supervisor and director of nursing and is responsible for the coordination of total nursing care in the emergency room department. The ER Nurse is responsible for ensuring quality nursing care through the nursing process of assessment, triage, implementation, and evaluation. He/she is responsible for the orientation, assignment, supervision, evaluation, and teaching of those under his/her direction. The ER nurse manages the shift to optimize workflow. The ER Nurse ensures compliance with all operating policies and procedures of Lake Butler Hospital and AHCA regulations. The ER Nurse's duties encompass those of the RN job description, along with the following specific functions.

Some of the Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assessment of physical and psychological needs of patients in emergent situations.
2. Document initial findings/changes and provide reports to providers to prevent decline in patient status.
3. Locate and utilize available resource materials effectively.
4. Establish priorities of care in emergent situations.
5. Coordinate with coworkers on patient admissions/discharges to complete assessments, treatments, paperwork, education, etc.

Requirements:

Education: Minimum Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed in the state of Florida as a registered nurse (RN).

Experience: Minimum of three years medical/surgical experience. Preferred or Specialized: One year experience in emergency room or critical care is preferred.

Skills: BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications required. Certifications in ACLS and PALS may be obtained within 3 months of hire.
