Job summary

North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison, AR is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. The role involves triage, assessment, and delivery of high-acuity emergency care in a fast-paced ED setting.

You will coordinate with physicians and EMS, participate in education and quality initiatives, and uphold infection prevention and ED safety standards. Competitive shift-based compensation offered for PRN roles.

Qualifications

• Active Arkansas RN license or compact RN eligibility.
• BLS and ACLS active at hire.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) within 3 months of hire.
• PALS or ENPC within 6 months of hire.
• TNCC within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Triage and rapidly assess patients; identify and respond to life-threatening conditions.
• Deliver age-appropriate emergency care (cardiac, trauma, medical/surgical, pediatric).
• Administer medications and therapies per protocols; monitor and document patient responses.
• Coordinate patient care with ED physicians, hospitalists, specialists, and ancillary departments.
• Support and precept EMT, paramedic, and nursing students within approved guidelines.
• Uphold infection prevention standards and ED safety practices.
• Participate in quality improvement, required in-services, and ED staff meetings.
• Communicate with patients and families in a kind, clear, and culturally sensitive manner.
