Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Olympia, WA is seeking a full-time ER Service Head to lead our ER clinicians, specialists, and leadership team. The role offers a salary range of $180,000 to $250,000 per year, plus an annual stipend up to $15,000 and potential sign-on bonus and relocation assistance.

The ideal candidate holds a DVM, has completed an internship, and brings at least three years of ER experience; leadership experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• DVM from an accredited university, internship completed, and at least three years of ER experience.
• Previous leadership experience preferred.
• Willingness to mentor ER clinicians and support staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage the schedule for all ER Clinicians, including PTO requests.
• Facilitate regular ER Clinician meetings and participate in hospital leadership meetings.
• Mentor ER Clinicians and new ER/ICU staff; oversee case management and provide guidance.
• Integrate emergency and specialty services to manage all hospitalized cases; liaise with Medical Director as needed.
• Assist in patient safety reporting within the ER department.
• Contribute to recruiting new Emergency Clinicians and assign mentors for new hires.
• Address customer service issues and collaborate with management to resolve problems.
• Oversee capital purchases for the ICU/ER department.
