Job summary

Lifespan in Providence, RI is seeking a Night Shift RN in the Emergency department to lead direct patient care from 7pm to 7am, every other weekend and holiday. Under supervision, you will assess, treat, and stabilize patients and collaborate with the team.

Requirements include RI RN licensure, BSN preferred, and three years of adult critical care experience with CPR/ACLS. The role emphasizes compassionate, safe care and ongoing quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of current clinical experience in adult critical care nursing, including responding to cardiac arrests and clinical emergencies, in a hospital setting.
• Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island by the Rhode Island Board of Nursing or licensure as a RN in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care and leadership by delegating, supervising and participating in safe nursing activities provided by ancillary personnel.
• Evaluates effectiveness of patient care and identifies opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team, patient, family and community services regarding patient outcomes and discharge planning.
• Assesses and provides appropriate teaching based on patient and family needs.
• Participates in departmental quality improvement and research activities.
• Responds to emergency situations (Code Blue, Rapid Response, Code Stroke, Code Triage) as delegated by Nursing Leadership to provide critical care assessment and interventions until the patient can be transitioned to the appropriate level of care.
