Job summary

Tampa General Hospital seeks a Clinical Nurse for the Free Standing ED to deliver nursing care under general supervision, plan and implement care, document assessments, and advocate for patient rights in a fast-paced environment.

You will collaborate with patients, families and the healthcare team to develop and adjust the plan of care, coordinate discharge planning, and ensure high-quality, goal-directed care in line with hospital standards.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license issued by Florida or a Compact State.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Unit-specific certifications may be required (ACLS, PALS, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Assesses and analyzes the health status of patients comprehensively.
• Performs ongoing assessments and documents findings.
• Initiates discharge planning with initial admission assessment.
• Plans patient care with the patient, family, and health care team.
• Transcribes and implements physician orders; provides patient education.
• Directs care team within scope of practice and coordinates care.
• Communicates plan of care during shift reports and with the health care team.
• Evaluates patient outcomes and documents effectiveness of interventions.
